Mini Fashion And Accessories Haul Review.

Hi all! I hope you have all had a lovely week and were very productive! This week I finally finished my first university exams and decided to treat myself with a dress and accessories for getting through it all. It was my first time ordering from these shops online apart from ASOS and had some differing experiences- some positive and others not so much...

I ordered the "I Am Woman" beret from the online shop ASOS on the 5th of June and it did not arrive until the 15th of June. I have ordered large amounts of clothing from this site at the one time and it all arrived faster than this one hat. With that being said, after checking my order details, it claims to have been shipped on the 6th of June. Perhaps I should be getting mad at the Australian postal system? Anyway, it took a while for one hat to arrive and it was the last item ordered to do so.

Onto the beret itself, it is lovely! It is obviously of good quality and is quite sturdy for a beret- at least in comparison to others I have worn. It is thick so is actually practical in keeping you warm and is not just as an accessory. The detailing which says "I Am Woman" is very well done and as an overall beret doesn't look cheap at all for the price I paid ($16.50 on sale from $24.00). To me it felt and looked quite Parisian, especially when paired with a red lip.

The only problem I do have with this product is so minor that it is barely worth mentioning. I noticed that a lot of fuzz and fluff from the actual beret itself got all over my other clothes and kind of fell on to my face here and there. This honestly doesn't bother me and I would just put it down to the beret being brand spanking new and getting worn in.

I ordered the "Stripe Embroidered Dress" from CityChic on the 5th of June at the exact same time I ordered the beret. The only difference? This one arrived just two days later! I've bought quite a few items at CityChic but have never ordered through their website before and I am really impressed with their service. I have always LOVED this shop since I found out about it but this was just icing on the cake.

When I tried the dress on I found that it was comfortable and a really good length. A problem that I do have with a lot of clothes is it being too short, even though I'm average height. CityChic caters for this.

The material that it is made from is light yet of a great quality but on the downside is a material that crushes quite easily. But, if creasing is minor, this is, in my opinion (but it could just be my eyesight), hidden by the striped pattern.

This brings me onto the pattern- it is so flattering. I found the vertical stripes to be flattering on my plus size body and also thought the neckline and sleeves were flattering as well. The neckline is quite square whilst the sleeves are billowy but come in just below the elbow. On the sleeves is a really pretty embroidered pattern of red flowers (which I think are roses, but don't quote me on this). It is obvious that the embroidery is of a high standard, just like the rest of the dress.

Something that is also flattering is the matching waist tie that comes with the dress. This tie does an amazing job at cinching in the waist and is long enough to tie into a nice bow. You don't understand how many times a belt or tie has been too short to go around me....

Although wearing the dress with the tie is flattering, I also tried wearing it without it and I loved it just as much! This dress looks nice either way and I'm so glad that the designers at CityChic decided to make the tie detachable because some days you just want a loser fitting outfit.

One of my favourite things about this dress wasn't how I looked but how it made me feel. When paired with some red lipstick and the previously mentioned beret I felt so Parisian and cool and it was awesome!

Finally, onto the hair accessories that I bought from Kitten D amour. Firstly, I've only ever shopped at Kitten D amour once as I only discovered it this year. My first experience was at the Indooroopilly Boutique in Queensland and oh my. Have you ever had a girl serve you that was so awesome that you just had to add her on Facebook and Instagram? Because I did. She was the nicest person I have EVER had serve me at a shop before. That was my first experience.

My second experience, I was using an online gift card which I had received for my birthday. When the parcel arrived it came in the cutest bag with a handwritten note and stickers. That's right, STICKERS. It is still some of the best service I have ever received.

Now, onto what I bought. I bought the Bossa Nova headband priced at $15 (on sale) and the Tropical Hair Comb priced at $29 (also on sale). The headband is made of a velvety material and is stunning. It is so pretty and amazingly doesn't hurt my head. You know how headbands push in just the wrong spot and give you a headache? This one doesn't. It also has a thicker band which I like too. I don't have anything to fault about it to be honest. It is exactly what I thought it would be.

The Tropical Hair Comb is also lovely and exactly what I expected. It is actually, to be quite honest with you, stronger and more durable than I originally thought it would be. The only thing I did notice with this is the fact that it is quite heavy so If you're only popping this in your hair to hold it in place it will come loose and droop. But, this is easily fixed- just pin your hair before putting it in- problem solved!

Overall I was really really happy with my purchases and the service I received except for a very minor delivery hiccup. I hope that I've also given you a new place to shop- especially us plus sized gals! For reference, I'm a size 18-22 depending on the brand but I'm easily a small at CityChic and a medium in jumpsuits (because I have a long torso, lol!) At Kitten D amour, I squeeze into an 18 but some clothing is too narrow at the hips for me so If you like their clothes online, I would suggest going in-store to try before you buy!

I hope you enjoyed these little reviews and remember, if you have anything you'd like me to review reach out on here or my Instagram (linked in the top right hand corner)! I would love to hear from you. Much love to all and Godspeed!
